Martin is a graduate of the University of Auckland School of Medicine and completed his radiology specialist training in Auckland. Following that, he undertook fellowships in abdominal imaging and emergency radiology at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington, USA. He was offered a faculty position and remained at the University of Washington as a subspecialist radiologist, researcher, and educator for nearly 20 years, rising to Professor and Vice Chair of the department. On his return to New Zealand, Martin joined TRG imaging in Auckland.
As an imaging researcher and educator, Martin has authored more than 100 scientific papers, abstracts, textbooks, and presented at major radiology meetings worldwide. He remains an Affiliate Professor at the University of Washington and is involved in ongoing research into imaging quality and patient safety as co-principal investigator of research funded by the US National Cancer Institute / National Institutes of Health.
Martin cares deeply about making efficient, premium quality radiology accessible for all patients, and aims to ensure that all customers feel they have received the best care possible from our team. In his spare time, he is drawn to the water - boating, sailing, and exploring Aotearoa's glorious coastline.
